With the increase in professional opportunities coming our way in terms of visiting professionals and visit and placement opportunities I felt it was important that I produce a creative CV which is needed when applying to job etc. and could take along with me to any studio visits I get.
I designed the CV specifically to in keep with my personal branding in order to portray a professional visual brand for myself as a designer.
WPA Pinfold
WPA came in a delivered a talk to us about a design academy they run for six months. What really appealed to me about this opportunity was the chance study further following graduation as although I have been on the course for three years I believe my design work could still develop whilst working in a professional environment with the possibility of a job at the end.
As I have chosen to apply for the Identity Programme the three pieces of work I chose to send where Hoax Exhibition book, Isolé and Home Comforts which are three examples of branding I have worked on each showcasing different skills and applications to a broad range of collateral.
Unfortunately I was unsuccessful.
DS Emotion
Another opportunity made available to us was from design agency DS Emotion, which is a studio I have already looked into and felt was appropriate to my design practice and therefore I sent them my creative CV, portfolio and covering letter with the hope of securing a placement.
Unfortunately I received a email from DS Emotion who told me all there internship positions had been filled.
Ideas By Music
Through Facebook I found out that one of the students from out course was in the process of setting up a portfolio review session with a professional from Ideas By Music. I decided to sign up for the event not only as being able to receive feedback on my revised portfolio from a working professional be extremely beneficial to me in how to develop from here to secure a placement but Ideas By Music are also a branding agency which is where my design interests lie.
