OUGD505: Design Production 2 - An Exhibition of Beer Culture Study Task 2 Critique

The aim of our first critique of studio brief one of the Design Production was to act as a final proof of our publication to iron out any minor issues such as typos etc before we sent it to print for the final deadline in two weeks time.

Compared to previous crits we have attended the format of this crit was slightly different, in groups of seven we were first given the opportunity to talk though our development of the brief; our original format we had chosen and our packaging concepts following this we were then asked to leave all our work and each member of our group would fill in a crit feedback form based upon on what they saw.

I personally found this format of crit particularly useful. As a designer my design work should speak for itself I feel at this stage in the design process it was useful that I could talk through my development so far and pose any questions or queries which the group could feedback on later. Having each member the group give feedback on my work also meant I had a wide range of feedback which will paricularly useful in developing my concept and design from this stage.

I began my presentation for the crit by talking through the specific content I had chosen and how this related to the format of a 'guide book'. I also showed the group the initial thumbnails I'd produced for the layout of my 'cards' and which one I chosen to apply to all of them to create a sense of continuity and the net I had devised which would house each of the eight cards.

My Feedback:
