OUGD406: Design Practice 1 - Speaking From Experience: Final Crit

In order to receive any important feedback relating to any production or design issues which had occurred during the design process we given the opportunity to present our current position in the brief and pose any questions within a group of six students in the from of a 'final crit'.

Within the crit, we were each given a couple of minutes to introduce and explain our concept and design before posing any question in which we would like particular feedback.

As I had not yet managed to begin the production of my final outcome, this was the main area I asked the group for feedback on and the issues relating to this such as the stock I should use and the binding process.

Another area which I asked for feedback on was the layout I had chosen for my final outcome and its appropriateness for the concept.

Feedback:

  • Think about Binding - Spiral binding would make it appear like a schedule
  • Consider stock in terms in terms of price - May end up being quite expensive
  • Consider front cover and colour of stock
  • Think about type and consistency I think the main type works but the smaller font doesn't really fit
  • Maybe have more obvious areas where you can write
  • Maybe also duplicate some of the pages - As I always change my plan
  • Give room for people to cross out things out
  • Maybe put horizontal lines to assist writing?
  • Not entirely sure about the layout - It's not obvious how you move around the page throughout the week
  • Very good idea but seems very simple - Could you have something to accompany it?
  • I like the colour coding and how it helps you to lead you throughout the course
